prep:15 min. bake:45 min.
oven:350°. makes:6 servings
1 (10¾ oz.) can cream of celery or cream of mushroom soup
½ C. shredded cheddar cheese or American cheese (2 oz)
1 (2 oz.) jar sliced pimiento, drained (optional)
3 (14½ oz.) cans green beans drained, or 6 cups frozen green beans, thawed and drained
1 (2.8 oz.) can french fried onions or 1 C. crushed seasoned croutons
1. In a large bowl combine, soup, cheese, and if desired, pimiento. Stir in green beans. Transfer mixture to a 1½-quart casserole.
2. Bake, covered, in a 350° oven for 40 minutes. Remove from oven and stir; sprinkle with french-fried onions or crushed croutons. Bake about 5 minutes more or until heated through.
CALICO BEAN BAKE: Prepare as above, except substitute one 14½ oz. can cut wax beans for one can green beans.
It was SO good to see you at Christmas time. You are a delight, Annie, and you inspire me. I need to get that caramel recipe from you. I plan on making those this year BEFORE Christmas. I can't wait that long. :)
